1. Your content, your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the videos, audio, and any other material you import into TarJim.

Only process content that you own, have created, or have explicit permission to use. Do not use TarJim to generate subtitles for copyrighted material you do not have the right to modify, republish, or redistribute — including films, TV shows, music, or paid streaming content.

TarJim is a tool. Misuse is your responsibility, not ours.

Nothing in this app grants you any license to third-party copyrighted material.

Fair use, fair dealing, and other exceptions vary by jurisdiction and by the specific use. When in doubt, do not process the content, or consult a lawyer. Burning subtitles into a video does not create a new work with independent copyright.

If you publish the resulting video, you remain accountable to every platform's content policies and every applicable copyright law.

3. AI output is not guaranteed

Transcriptions and translations are generated by on-device machine-learning models. Output may contain errors, mistranslations, omissions, mishearings, offensive phrasing, or hallucinated content that was never present in the source audio.

Always review the generated subtitles before publishing — especially for legal, medical, educational, safety-critical, or public-facing uses. TarJim is not responsible for consequences arising from inaccurate AI output.

4. Religious & scriptural content

AI translation of religious or scriptural material — the Torah, the Bible, the Quran and Hadith, along with prayers, liturgy, sermons, and scholarly commentary on sacred texts — is not authoritative. The on-device model may misattribute quotations, alter meaning, drop nuance, or generate content that was never in the source. These risks apply to both transcription and translation.

Do not rely on TarJim's output for religious instruction, sermons, sacred-text quotation, religious rulings, or any other authoritative religious use. Always verify any religious content against authoritative published translations and, where appropriate, consult qualified religious scholars from the relevant tradition. The responsibility for the accuracy and appropriateness of religious content rests entirely with the user.

5. Prohibited uses

When you use TarJim to generate or translate content, you agree:

We may disable access or remove features at our discretion if your use violates this clause.

6. No warranty

TarJim is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Use at your own risk. The developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from use of, or inability to use, this app — including lost data, lost work, device issues, or damages from relying on AI-generated content.

7. Privacy

All video processing happens locally on your device. Videos, audio, and generated subtitles are never uploaded to any server.

TarJim does not collect analytics, telemetry, or personal data. The only network activity is a one-time download of the AI model files when you first install. After that, the app works fully offline.

For the full details on data handling, subscriptions, and children's privacy, see the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party components

TarJim builds on open-source software and model weights published under their respective licenses. Using TarJim does not transfer any rights in those components to you beyond what their own licenses grant.

Transcription components are licensed under the MIT License. Translation runtime code is licensed under the Apache 2.0 License.

The on-device translation model is Gemma, provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use. Your use of translation features is additionally subject to the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy.

9. Subscriptions, lifetime & billing

TarJim Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system in two forms: an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual), and a one-time non-consumable Lifetime purchase.

Auto-renewing subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription or turn off auto-renew at any time from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.

Lifetime. The Lifetime tier is a one-time purchase that grants Pro access for as long as TarJim's current subscription product remains in service. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. Lifetime purchases are restorable through Apple's standard restore mechanism on any device signed in to the same Apple ID, and are family-shareable through Apple Family Sharing where eligible.

Scope of "Lifetime". "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of TarJim's current Pro subscription product, not the lifetime of the company or its successors. If TarJim is fundamentally rebuilt as a separate product (for example, a major new app on a different bundle identifier), Lifetime customers retain access to the product they purchased; access to a successor product may require a separate purchase.

New features. "Lifetime" includes all Pro features available at the time of purchase, plus reasonable improvements. New tiers, premium add-ons, or substantially separate features released later may require their own purchase. We will be transparent in the app's release notes about anything new that falls outside the Lifetime entitlement.

Refunds. All purchases — subscriptions and Lifetime — are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under the policies of the App Store of your region; we have no ability to issue refunds directly. No refunds are otherwise provided for unused portions of a current subscription period except where required by law.

10. Age and jurisdiction

TarJim is not intended for users under 13. By using this app you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and that your use of the app is lawful where you are.

If any part of these terms is unenforceable under your local law, the remainder still applies.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated with future versions of the app. When they are, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change, and the in-app Terms & Disclaimers will be updated to match. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
